Krewe d’Argent was founded in 1997.
The name means “the krewe of money or gold” as its original
intent was to be limited to those employed in the financial
field.
Today, it is open to all those who want to
give back to our fine city by perpetuating the Mardi Gras
tradition. In 1998, the krewe was one of the original krewes to
participate in the Kickoff Parade on the Friday before Mardi
Gras and continues this today.
Current membership in this
small krewe is approximately 40 men and women. All float riders
wear the traditional Mardi Gras colors with either purple or
green costumes and gold hats and are easy to identify we are the
only krewe wearing the traditional New Orleans white gloves.
